Standard Uses stated in the unmodified “House that Grows” are available
but, for people with
Special Needs due to physical limitations
We have redesigned the
Home to solve their mobility needs, i.e.
A. Included an
Elevator for Wheelchair Bound Individuals
That services the
standard floors of any home, or
B. Can include
Chair Lifts between floors for those that
Are ambulatory that have
trouble using steps.
All
individuals, from one to a hundred, can have special needs due to many
reasons, from birth to death. It
is our goal to alleviate any stress placed on anyone that might be in this
situation, young or old. There are several levels of stressful situations:
1. The
inability to use steps.
A. For the
wheelchair bound we have included space in the frame of the building to place
the mechanics of an Elevator without a major modification to the home. If no
Elevator is required, the space is allocated for other uses.
B. For those that
can walk, but have a disability in their legs which makes it difficult to
manipulate steps, we can install Chair Lifts between floors to let them move
from level to level In either situation a minor change in framing will easily
meets your requirements.
2. A
multitude of other disabilities that individuals have.
Whether the problem that
one has is caused by an accident, birth defects, or just aging, there is a
mechanical means to give that individual assistance to overcome their
difficulty. Our ability to meet your requirements can only benefit you if you
can tell us where you have limitations. A small interview can point us in the
right direction.
We
have compiled a Check List of requirements under the heading
“Modifications
for the Physically Disabled”. If you would review them and convey to us which
items are significant to relieve the stresses in your life, we can incorporate
these changes in the original design.
Keep
in mind, that most of the items that you might list have already been
considered by the Veteran’s Administration and incorporated in the ADA Manual,
so that any request that you make is considered reasonable as long as it
solves the problem of livability, and it cost very little to include it in the
design.
